The World Rolled off His TongueÂ
A solo exhibition by Zulkhairi Zulkiflee
As the Exhibition Producer, Above the Vault oversaw production, logistics, marketing, and publication copyediting for The World Rolled off His Tongue, a solo exhibition by Singaporean artist-curator Zulkhairi Zulkiflee. Inspired by the artist’s 2024 collage of the same name, the exhibition activates the Malay-Singaporean slang term ‘world’ as a lens for play, experimentation, and associative thinking. Centred on the motif of the pavilion – positioned both as a site for idiosyncratic vernacular exchanges and as a mnemonic structure evoking formative memories – the showcase brings together paintings on photo paper, collages, sculpture, and narrative writing. Our advisory provided end-to-end operational execution, facilitating the translation of Zulkhairi’s multidisciplinary explorations of memory, structure, and desire into a cohesive and engaging exhibition experience.

Above the Vault provided editorial and design direction for 55 Years of Siaw-Tao: Members’ Anniversary Collection, a 152-page commemorative publication commissioned by Siaw-Tao Chinese Seal Carving Calligraphy and Painting Society to mark the 55th anniversary of its founding. Tracing the Society’s enduring support for Singaporean artists, the publication captures its pivotal role in integrating traditional practices with contemporary local sensibilities – ranging from thematic explorations of hawker culture to distinctive fusions of seal carving, calligraphy, and painting. Our advisory delivered full publication oversight, encompassing editorial design, copyediting, colour correction, and print production management to synthesise decades of artistic heritage into a visually refined volume.

55 Years of Siaw-Tao: Members’ Anniversary CollectionÂ
Commissioned by Siaw-Tao Chinese Seal Carving Calligraphy and Painting Society
As the Project Lead (Artist Care and Curatorial Content), our Principal Specialist managed complex artist liaison across over 50 participating artists and estates – including the coordination of 11 new commissions – for a diamond jubilee exhibition featuring 95 works from the Chong Huai Seng private collection. Curated by Kwok Kian Chow, the exhibition framed Singapore’s nation-building as an ongoing process – a moment of both completion and new beginnings – anchored by the original artist’s proof of Sydney Harpley’s 1982 bronze bust of the first Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Spanning works from the 1940s to 2025 across themes of worlding, diaspora, and trans-locality, the project paid tribute to Singapore’s founding leaders while offering a fresh, inclusive narrative of the nation’s cultural landscape. Our Principal Specialist directed the curatorial content strategy in close partnership with the exhibition curator, ensuring complete structural and narrative integrity across this seminal showcase.
